TESTIMONIALS

"Benjammin has state-of-the-art equipment in his comfortable basement studio, and he knows how to use it to make good music. Recording requires a totally different skill set than performing. Benjammin proves to be master of both."

I spent two days working with Benjamin in his home studio. During that time we finished and mixed one recording I had started at home and recorded a second song from scratch. I was very pleased with the results and will be back whenever possible to record more. (It's a two-day drive from here, which is lucky for Ben or he might find me plaguing his doorstep night and day with my book of unrecorded tunes!)

For the first piece, "Santa's Laugh," I brought in a CD with the tracks I'd already laid down. Benjamin ported them into his software and lined them up in no time for some jingle bell overdubbing and remixing. He also helped me work out a sweet harmony part for the bridge. The final mix sounds fantastic with much more clarity and richness of tone than I would be able to achieve myself at home. (And done in far less time as well!)

Our second track, "Loose Tooth", is a story song, so we opted for a simple arrangement of voice and acoustic guitar. Benjamin set up three microphones and captured a wonderful full stereo sound out of the guitar. The final track sounds like a flawless live performance. It can be our little secret that Ben used his masterful digital editing skills to combine the best bits from several takes into a seamless whole.

As for the man himself, Ben is a gentle fountain of positive energy. You won't find a more laid back and agreeable person to work with. Happy recording!
